Matsui granulator saves energy, reduces noise
SMGL3 Matsui introduced a low-speed, screenless granulator at NPE2018 that is designed for grinding runners and small parts beside the injection press. Standard features include hardened-steel knives and a vacuum takeoff bin for automatic unloading of ground material. The takeoff bin’s port can be rotated to face any direction, facilitating setup. A feeding chute magnet prevents damage to the machine from most tramp metal and three hopper windows allow the operator to see the cutting chamber. Safety features include an emergency shut-off button and a thermostat that prevents the motor from overheating. The SMGL3 comes in four sizes.
What’s new? Numerous improvements over Matsui’s prior model, the SMGL2. Redesigned cutters, paired with a smaller motor, provide greater throughputs with less horsepower. The company redesigned the chute and cutting chamber to reduce noise. Also, the SMGL3 has a smaller footprint than the previous model.
Benefits Energy savings, less dust and quieter operation. The granulator produces clean and homogeneous regrind for improved shot-to-shot consistency and molded part quality. Additionally, it’s fast and easy to clean for material changes.
