Gluco vertical presses gain Keba controllers
Injection molding machines Gluco’s vertical-clamping injection molding machines (IMMs) offer either vertical or horizontal injection and have clamping forces ranging from 15 tons to 300 tons.
What’s new? Keba controllers. After creating a prototype insert molding machine with the new controller, Gluco decided to ship all of its new U.S.-made IMMs with the KePlast i2000 control system with 12-inch touch-screen display as standard. Its presses also will be supplied with the KePlast SpeedPump package, which is a servo drive matched with a hydraulic pump. Customers can still request legacy Allen-Bradley controls as an option.
Benefits Increased functionality. The new controller will allow users to monitor injection profiling, keep a history of shot size and core pulls and see graphics tracking all functions of the press. The SpeedPump saves energy costs by only providing hydraulic energy as needed.
